Sliding Scale Pricing

I offer a sliding scale pricing to make my services accessible to everyone, regardless of income level. This approach invites us to reflect on our privileges and share resources, fostering greater access for all. By participating in a community that values resource-sharing, we all benefit—because not all resources are financial, as you know. It’s perfectly okay to have resources, and it’s perfectly okay not to. That’s what the sliding scale is designed to address!

I understand financial realities can be complex, so don’t stress. Simply choose the option that best aligns with your situation—no proof of income required.

This model is a work in progress, evolving as I do. Your input is welcome—feel free to reach out with questions or suggestions. When you’re ready to schedule a consultation, fill out the form on my Contact Me page.
Base Pricing — $40/hr

Base Pricing is my standard rate. This pricing not only ensures exceptional service but also sustains my sliding scale system, making my services accessible to more people. If you have the resources to afford recreational travel, dining, or other similar self-care expenses, this pricing level is for you. Thank you for choosing to invest in your garden while supporting community accessibility!

Relief Pricing — $20/hr

Relief pricing is designed for those who usually schedule at the Base Pricing level but are experiencing an extended loss of income that impacts their ability to afford it. If you’re unable to afford extras like recreational travel, dining out, or other self-care at this time but still have a degree of choice or earning power due to your education, background, or privilege, this pricing tier is for you. Relief pricing is slightly below the market rate for comparable gardening services in Portland. While it doesn’t contribute to sustaining my sliding scale system, it helps sustain my work directly, and I deeply appreciate your support during tough times.

If transforming your garden could lift your spirits and feels just out of reach, please let me help bring that joy back into your life. We need all the beauty and healing we can cultivate in this world right now. Let’s create something wonderful together.

Community Care Pricing — Free

Community Care pricing is available to residents with a generational connection to the neighborhoods that were part of the historic Albina district.

If you were born here, raised here, or have lived in this community all of your life, this option is for you. It is offered, regardless of ability to pay more, in acknowledgement of the community that was here before me.

Land Acknowledgement

I live on stolen land once home to village sites of the Multnomah, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin, Kalapuya, Molella, and many other tribes.

I also live on a gentrified plot of land in North Portland that is part of Albina, the center of Portland's African American population since the late 1900s.

It is because of the efforts of those before me I am able to care for plants and grow food on this land responsibly and with intention.

Harm-Reduction Capitalism

Capitalism isn't broken, it is keeping certain people from getting ahead just as intended.

In order to sustainably provide fresh, local produce free of charge to others, I have to participate in this system to financially support myself.
